Our study results show that developing your presentation and publishing skills can potentially yield a considerable increase in earning potential. Professionals with substantial publishing expertise can earn, on average, up to 47.6% more than their non-published peers. At the same time, those professionals with refined presentation skills may potentially earn up to 62.8% more than their peers who choose not to present. Those who serve on a related professional board may also out earn their peers by 18.1%. One should not overlook the assumption that it is likely the same professionals are engaged in all three leadership categories of presenting, publishing and serving on a board and/ or that these professionals are likely in senior management roles with 10+ years of expertise. The data findings also indicated that as a profession many study respondents are shy with their leadership skills, even though leadership skills are highly sought after by employers. The data findings indicated that 64.9% of study respondents have presented less than 5 times, 63.9% of study respondents have never been published and 49.3% of study respondents have never served on a professional related board.
