Position: IT Architect - Disaster Recovery
Status: Full-time, Permanent
Location: San Francisco, CA - Candidates must have current work authorization to work in the USA.

**Client is seeking a candidate who has previous experience working within a data center operations environment. Seeking a professional who can strategically engage all levels within an organization and raise the bar in disaster recovery planning. The candidate must bring real world experience with the ability to clearly articulate what did and did not work in previous programs and why. Experience with highly resilient Infrastructure environments across many platforms is a primary requirement for this position. Financial or high transaction based industry experience within a large enterprise environment is crucial for this role.
This role will implement the program components in line with corporate and divisional strategy and in accordance with GBC Key Controls, policies and procedures, industry standards, and compliance requirements. This role will strive toward a center of excellence to improve quality and efficiency in order to enhance productivity and improve the reputation of the discipline.
" Provide subject matter expertise in IT DR to support enterprise wide ITDR using a consistent process that follows industry standards and internal policies and procedures
" Follow and implement the strategic vision and roadmap to ensure Company maintains global compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
" Implement the Company IT DR Program and enhancements in accordance with the overall requirements of the organization's business continuity process
" Establish and ensure delivery of agreed levels of Service Continuity delivery, based on system SLA's, review and suggest protective measures
" Identify risks to the organization, maintain IT Continuity plans and ensure adequate Disaster Recovery provision.
" May be accountable for estimating, planning, managing and reporting on specific projects and portions of the departmental budget, delivering on time, within budget and to sufficient quality and leading teams without direct authority
" Ability to identify and recommend disaster recovery and business continuity strategies and options.
" Provide expertise for strategy improvements to reach desired control level (RTO, RPO, regulatory requirement, etc ).
" Ensure recovery consideration is included in technology architecture processes, technology upgrade projects and life-cycle refreshes.
" Assist with the implementation of technical recovery solutions.
" Develop technical architectures and operational standards to support DR objectives consistently.
" Assist in monitoring compliance and functionality.
" Provide guidance for the documentation disaster recovery plans and long term recovery plan implementations.
" Establish and coordinate ITDR / business continuity testing methodologies and exercises with Engineers to ensure adequacy of plans and training of personnel who execute them.
" Administer enterprise business continuity planning tool and provide training while conducting knowledge transfer regarding best practices.
" Commitment to identifying gaps and recommending appropriate process improvements
" Prioritize activities to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
" Manage the implementation and maintenance of the IT Continuity plans, in accordance with the overall requirements of the organization's business continuity process
" Participate effectively in the relationship with the Business Continuity Management, Crisis Management and cross departmental representatives
" Participate in the change management process and review the impact of proposed business and infrastructure changes on the service continuity plans
" Ensure that the ITDR plans are tested on a regular, agreed basis, and the plans are updated regularly with lessons learned
" Bachelor's Degree; Master's degree preferred
" Minimum of 15 years overall experience in Data Center operations and including 3 years experience in an IT DR environment
" Must possess a strong track record of collaboration and teamwork beyond direct-line reporting to ensure efficient relationship with BCM and CM teams as well as technical staff across the enterprise
" Experience working in a Data Center Operations environment, with an overall understanding of the systems and technology.
" Experience managing/leading large scale projects to completion.
" Significant knowledge of and experience with current industry standards
" Solid experience in a technical role within the Payment Systems Industry, including experience in IT DR
" Must be able to work in fast-paced, rapidly changing, and high pressured environment
" Highly developed problem solving and decision making skills
" Ability to effectively communicate to various levels of management and staff across the enterprise
" High level of personal initiative, creativity and self motivation
" In depth knowledge of the Company environment, systems, structure and methodologies
" Demonstrated proficiency in LDRPS and Microsoft Office tools, including Project preferred
" Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills preferred
" Strong interpersonal and indirect influencing skills, with a demonstrated ability to gain the confidence of individuals at various organizational levels
" CBCP/BCI certification preferred
